Bokeh How-To

I had my Nikon camera for about year which was Birthday gift to myself. I just started playing  around w/ settings  on it i figured about time learn! My 1st attempt was Bokeh I think they the prettiest photos an wanted to learn
~Bokeh is the photography term referring to the way in which the lens renders out-of-focus points of light.~

You’ll  want create deep field of depth  by setting your cameras aperture prioity mode  (if Nikon it’s “A” and “AV” if Canon)

~ Then, set the aperture at the widest that your lens will allow (1.4 or 2.8 is best) to capture the most light. In this setting, your camera will set your ISO~

You can take your object  or do abstract(set you camera manual focus)

I choose to do lights on my tree before decorating it. I think it came out pretty.

FAV Homemade Candy

 Do u have sweet tooth?
Who doesn’t!

I love love candy all kinds, but do have favorites an  are Sno Caps,Twix &  Almond Joy.

I will say any kind at the end of day will be favorite

Here’s my first attempt(couple months ago)on homemade candy an i made Sno Caps

*When shaping the chocolate i went back an forth on what to use to get right shape, went w/ zip lock bag cut at the end.
Will say w/ using the zip lock bag that if  hole is a little too big it will create over flowing chocolate, which happen in my case an shape can get uneven. I would say after reading that spoon works better*

And here another pic of just plain chocolate candies that made                                                              w/ bunch of molds that i had

Well,  if you thought that was awesome then now checkout some other FAVORITE homemade candies

Salt Dough Tutorial | Christmas Ornaments-DIY-

I recently made own Christmas Ornaments from Salt Dough. Have you ever heard of it? A little back Story when first found out about it HERE
I was looking to try my own ornaments this year, figure get me more in mood Holiday season  an completely forgot about making salt dough till found some ideas. I didn’t realize how great, easy an simple this craft is,perfect getting kiddies involved in! I think i’m hooked on making these lol
Did i mention what perfect gift these could be? Well, they can!

~Here pic how did mine. I used a circle/star cookie cutter;pressing lightly in center.I modge podge an glittered the whole ornament(drys clear)
I did see after the fact about acrylic sealer spray, but never used it.
I think Modge Podge works just as well.~

Now, wanna make your own?!

 What You Need
1/4 cup salt
1/2 cup flour
1/4 cup water
alphabet cookie cutters
cookie sheet
acrylic paint in primary colors

What you do
Preheat oven 250 degrees F.

Mix together the flour, salt and water to make a soft dough. If it’s too sticky, add small amounts of flour until pliable. Be careful not to add too much as your creations will crack if the dough is too dry!

Roll the dough out, or press it with your fingers, to about 1/2″ thick.

Cut ornaments out with cookie cutters and place on cookie sheet, or you can place dough on cookie sheet and cut them out directly on the sheet.
Bake for 2 1/2 hours.

Remove from oven and let cool.

Paint each letter with a different color acrylic paint and let dry. repeat with another coat if needed.

Kid Friendly Drink-Shirley Temple (A just because day} Treat

I love this drink when i was little, thought was the best.I will say it is
(I think) anyway! Every time i make one an not often i think back to when I first had one w/ my sis,it was only when we went to family favorite restaurant. It was sorta a treat when we go an always  got w/ extra cherries. I decided after hitting store  that wanted to make  and bought  all ingredients  for my Bubba an I to have.I would say it  was treat for “A just because day” =) Sometimes we just need to treat ourselves for no reason, right? He did like it except for cherries,
which  he took out. That was fine cause Momma got the extras 😉  It’s pretty simple to make an can be substitute w/ Diet 7up.That’s only if you allow soda, which i  try to not do a whole lot, so this be perfect for special occasion.

As you can see in pic I had Princess cup and Bubba was Spiderman one lol

Here’s all you need to make

  • 1/4 cup lemon-lime flavored carbonated beverage
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons grenadine syrup
  • 1 maraschino cherry

In a cup, combine lemon-lime soda and grenadine. Stir well and garnish with a maraschino cherry.
