William’s Doll Book Review

I never heard or read the book  William’s Doll written by: Charolette Zolotow before, but  after i read a  post Here had get it i could relate. Why? Well, the book is about a boy who wants a doll to hug and love. I can relate cause like William my son has a doll he plays w/.

William’s grandmother smiled. “He needs it,” she said, “to hug and to cradle and to take to the park so that when he’s a father like you, he’ll know how to take care of his baby” …” ~William’s Doll by Charlotte Zolotow

I never gave much thought of  my son loving his doll he calls Max,to me he was just mimicking how his father is towards him. And his father is the greatest so why wouldn’t he want to look up to that. And like William, my son carriers, hugs,Kisses his baby an also enjoys all ‘Boy Things’ like Football,Basketball,Cars, etc. Then again, why are just called ‘Boy Things’ some girls have love an enjoy those things too.As a parent i want son grow up to  be a kind, loving, caring old fashion gentleman towards woman wither he becomes a Dad someday or not. To me him playing w/ his baby Max  he’s learning to be gentle, loving, caring all thing i want him grow to be in life as a man.Yes, we want or thinks boys should be tough, but also okay to teach boys not to be as well. Now, by no means am saying to buy a doll for son, what am saying is if  son show interested let them hold an play w/ it.Their nothing weird about it or make them less of boy if they do. We all know children mimic and  love pretend play,it’s all in learning an exploring.

After reading this book it had  me better understand an appropriate if I didn’t before.  This book is amazing read that  I would recommend for everyone.

Have you heard or read this book? Can you relate?

                                               Sour Patch Grapes
My son picked out grapes and after saw on Pinterest for Sour Patch Grapes{follow my boards here}.Hmmm, I had make these and try them out. As you can see i didn’t have on hand lime jello, but i used Cherry it came out just as good.It was not hit by son though he eat it,doesn’t  mean it wasn’t for me lol.

source: PureSugar
bunch of Green Grapes
1 pkg  Lime Jello( or any flavor  can work)
1.  Wash your grapes thoroughly, you want them to be a little wet so the gelatin powder sticks to them.
2.  Place the gelatin powder on a plate and roll grapes into the powder, completely covering.  Using two spoons is helpful here.  Or you can simply place the powder in a zip lock back, drop a handful of grapes in at a time and shake until covered.
3.  Refrigerate for several hours.
